Julieta G. García-Donas was awarded with a PhD at the University of Edinburgh. She has an Honours Degree with a specialization in Anthropology from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain).  She graduated with a Master´s Degree in Forensic Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh in 2011. She attended the first Workshop in Forensic Histology that Dr. Elena Kranioti (lecturer at the University of Edinburgh) and Prof. Robert Paine  organized for the first time in 2011.

This workshop was the start point for her interest in bone histology. Since that, she has been collaborating in several projects related to histology. She was a volunteer in a 2 months histology training lead by Prof. Robert Paine which provided her with the necessary knowledge about thin-section preparation in a histology laboratory. These training sessions would be of crucial importance for her performance in her currently PhD based on age estimation using thin sections of ribs from a Modern Greek autopsy sample and a Modern Cypriot sample.  She has worked as a research assistant in the following Histology Workshops (2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015) among other collaborations as research assistant in Ibiza Field School 2012-2014 and Crete Field School 2015-2017.

Since 2012, she has been a demonstrator/tutor assisting in practical session for the Master´s in Human-osteoarchaeology and Forensic Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh  and a member of EUFA. She is actively presenting in annual international conferences as BAHID, FASE and AAPA meetings. She is currently working as a lecturer in Kent University.
